The Dispatcher by John Scalzi

This week for the Fiction Friday feature, I am reviewing the sci-fi Audible Original, The Dispatcher by John Scalzi. This audio work was released in 2016. The audiobook is 2 hours & 18 minutes in length and read by Zachary Quinto. The following overview is provided from Audible: One day, not long from now, it becomes almost impossible to murder anyone—999 times out of a thousand, anyone who is intentionally killed comes back. How? We don’t know. But it changes everything: war, crime, daily life. Enter Tony Valdez, professional Dispatcher. True to their name, these licensed assassins are tasked with humanely disposing of people in death’s crosshairs to offer them a second chance at avoiding the reaper. When a friend and fellow Dispatcher goes missing, Valdez is plunged into a web of intrigue both professional and personal. It’s a race against time for Valdez to find his friend before it’s too late…before not even a Dispatcher can save him.

I loved this Audible Original. Zachary Quinto’s voice added the perfect haunting tone to this compelling story. The whole concept and idea of this world and the Dispatchers is fascinating. I printed out a list of all of John Scalzi’s books so I could devour more of his works. I was so excited to see that he had written a few series. If you have not noticed I have a thing for book series. I highly recommend this Audible Original.

I give this audiobook 4 out of 5 stars.

Sunday for the Spotcast Sunday feature, I am reviewing the business marketing podcast, B2B Word of Mouth Marketing. Next week for the Fiction Friday feature, I am reviewing the Audible Original, Evil Eye by Madhuri Skehar. Until then keep reading on; Nerd out!
