Sweet Magnolias

This week for the TV Tuesday feature, I am reviewing the romantic drama series, Sweet Magnolias. This show debuted in 2020. This series is rated TV-14 and I was unable to find information on why. Starring in this show are JoAnna Garcia Swisher, Brooke Elliot, and Heather Headley. The following plot overview is provided from IMDB: Centers on three South Carolina women, best friends since high school, as they shepherd each other through the complexities of romance, career, and family.

I went into this series rolling my eyes. Do not ask me why but something about shows set in small towns always makes me go ewe before I watch it. (Other examples of this: are Riverdale, and Hart of Dixie.) I loved this show. It was cute and I love the friendship between the main characters. I love how real the characters feel. The problems and situations are relatable. I related a lot to each character’s various struggles and challenges. I would describe this show as an emotional feel-good show. This is a show I would love to watch when it is cold out or I’m not feeling good. Just cuddle up in my bed with a bunch of blankets, hot cocoa, or some hot soup and just binge-watch the whole. This is that kind of show.

I give this show 4 out of 5 stars.

Tomorrow for the True Crime Wednesday feature, I am recapping the second episode of Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich. Next week for the TV Tuesday feature, I am reviewing the comedic drama series, Atypical. Until then keep binge-watching the episodes; Nerd out!
