Two People Who Hate Each Other Have to Cooperate

This current assignment for work has me working with my biggest enemy. We had originally met in college where Viviane had been a legacy admittance. She loved to tell everyone about how she was going to be kidnapped by the Delta Theta Pi sorority because her mother had been a member. When Viviane failed to get into the FBI Academy with her first application, I helped her. However, once she got in, she stabbed me in the back and now we are on assignment together. We were staking out a kennel business hoping to catch some important chatter on the aftermath of the recent crime boss’s death.

“Heads up, we have a car approaching from the south,” Viviane announced.

We both studied the various monitors trying to confirm that Everett was on his way into the kennel. Everett was quite a quagmire for a mob boss. He certainly loved a pinstriped suit.

“Not 100% on identification without seeing his pinky ring. But I believe that the eagle had landed.” I noted the time in my notes for my report later.

“Turn up the audio. This could be exactly what we’re looking for.” Viviane snidely remarked.

I found the way Everett treated the others in a lofty manner was gross. I do not understand why anyone would want to work for such a miserable person. There was static in our headsets as Viviane adjusted the levels and frequency.

“You’ll find what you’re looking for in the Adirondack Mountains. Make sure you send Yardley. I don’t want any mistakes this time. Do you understand, Vance?” Everett spoke.

“Yes, sir. I will leave immediately.” A man responded.

While it wasn’t the information we were hoping for, it was enough to prove that we were headed in the right direction. The only downside was that it meant that I would be doing more surveillance with Viviane.
