Missing: Javier Rafael Castro

This week for the Missing Person Wednesday feature, I am highlighting the Doe Network profile of Javier Rafael Castro. Javier is classified as an endangered missing person. He was last seen on June 18, 2016, in Boca Grande, Florida. Javier was born on December 31, 1994, and was 21 years old when he disappeared. He is described as a Hispanic male, 6’3”, 155lbs, with black hair and brown eyes. Javier has an appendix surgery scar on his stomach, a scar on the right side of his chin, a scar on his right eyebrow, and has both ears pierced.

Javier was last seen wearing a black bathing suit, and potentially clear stone earrings in each ear. He disappeared while swimming off Range Light Beach in the Boca Grande area. Javier had been swimming with his siblings when a few of them became stranded on a sandbar due to a rip tide. They were rescued but Javier was not found. If you have any information on Javier or his disappearance, please contact Detective Wendy Russell of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office by phone at (239) 477-1056. Please make sure to reference case number 16-281764.

Tomorrow for the Writing Thursday feature, I am continuing the Personal History series. Next week for the True Crime Wednesday feature, I am recapping the final episode of the Netflix Original series Killer Insider: The Mind of Aaron Hernandez. Until then keep sleuthing the cases; Nerd out!
