Locke & Key

This week for the TV Tuesday feature, I am reviewing the dramatic fantasy series, Locke & Key. This show debuted in 2020. It is rated TV-14 for the following reasons: mild sex & nudity, moderate violence & gore, mild profanity, mild alcohol/drugs/smoking, mild frightening & intense scenes. There is currently one season available with a total of 10 episodes. Each episode has a running time of 48 minutes. Starring in this series are Darby Stanchfield, Connor Jessup, and Emilia Jones. The following plot overview is provided from IMDB: After their father is murdered under mysterious circumstances, the three Locke siblings and their mother move into their ancestral home, Keyhouse, which they discover is full of magical keys that maybe connected to their father’s death.

Everyone needs to stop what they are doing and watch this series. If you do not know any about this series let me give you a little background. This series is based on a graphic novel by Joe Hill. Joe Hill is the child of a famous author and doesn’t use his legal last name, as a way to distance himself from his uber-famous parent. There is a flaw in his logic of doing this, while it is fine to do, make sure we can’t google what you look like. Joe is a carbon copy of his famous father, Stephen King. Just find some old pics of King with his beard and hold up next to Joe’s picture. Joe is a talented writer and deserves a ton of praise for this series that is based on his work. I will now be devouring all the Joe Hill content I can. Now, let us talk about some specifics of this series. I do not think they could have cast a better cast. The kids are perfect in their roles and they do such a wonderful job warring like true siblings in the series. I am looking forward to season two. The thing I love the most about this series, I was hooked from the first five minutes to the last moment of the season. I highly recommend this show. It is for anyone who likes puzzles, mysteries, psychological thrillers, and more.

I give this show 5 out of 5 stars.

Tomorrow for the True Crime Wednesday feature, I am recapping the second episode of the Netflix series, Killer Inside: The Mind of Aaron Hernandez. Next week for the TV Tuesday feature, I am reviewing the sci-fi adventure series, Lost in Space. Until then keep binge-watching the episodes; Nerd out!
