This week for the Movie Monday feature, I am reviewing the action-adventure film, How It Ends. This movie came out in 2018 and has a running time of 1 hour & 53 minutes. This film is rated TV-MA for the following reasons: mild sex & nudity, moderate violence & gore, severe profanity, mild alcohol/drugs/smoking, and mild frightening/intense scenes. Starring in this movie are Theo James, Kat Graham, and Nancy Sorel. The following plot overview is provided from IMDB: A desperate man tries to return home to his pregnant fiancée after a mysterious apocalyptic event turns everything to chaos.
Well, I enjoyed this movie up until the end. It was so good and then they ruined it. I am not going to give away anything but just say that it is beyond disappointing. I have a few theories as to why they did what they did for the ending. But, let me stop going on and on about what I did not like when there were things I did like. I loved the casting; Theo James is a favorite of mine. I also loved the cinematography; the wide shots were some of my favorites. The story was compelling, and pleasantly proved my assumptions wrong. I want to be cautious in telling people to watch it because again it was a great movie but that ending really ruined the whole experience. I guess I will say tread with caution on this one.
I give this movie 4 out of 5 stars.
Tomorrow in the TV Tuesday feature, I am reviewing the historical drama, The Borgias. Next week for the Movie Monday feature, I am reviewing the dramatic biopic, The Stanford Prison Experiment. Until then keep seizing the cinema; Nerd out!
