Hemlock Grove

This week for the TV Tuesday feature, I’m reviewing the dramatic horror series, Hemlock Grove. This show ran from 2013 to 2015. This series is rated TV-MA for the following reasons: severe sex & nudity, severe violence & gore, moderate profanity, moderate alcohol/drugs/smoking, and severe frightening/intense scenes. There are 3 seasons for a total of 33 episodes. Each episode has a running time of 46 minutes. Starring in this series are Famke Janssen, Bill Skarsgard, and Landon Liboiron. The following overview is provided from IMDB: Secrets are just part of daily life in the small Pennsylvania town of Hemlock Grove, where the darkest evils hide in plain sight.

Oh, there are so many good characters in this show. I will be honest, it’s a graphic show. I loved a lot of the storytelling. However, I was disappointed in the choice of actress for Shelley for seasons 2 & 3. I think they ruined a lot of what I loved about Shelley by changing her function in the show. I loved Peter out of the main characters. Olivia thankfully got her Karma in the show. Oh man does Roman put you through the wringer when it comes to your opinion of him. I don’t think they could have cast Peter, Roman, or Olivia any better. Roman especially, Bill Skarsgard was meant to play that role, plus I can see why he was chosen for the role of Pennywise. This is one for horror fans.

I give this show 4 out of 5 stars.

Tomorrow for the Missing Person Wednesday feature, I’m highlighting the Doe Network profile of Angelique Yvonne Hataway. Next week for the TV Tuesday feature, I’m reviewing the comedic crime drama, Limitless. Until then keep bingeing the episodes; Nerd out!
