Extremis

This week for the Movie Monday feature, I am reviewing the documentary short film, Extremis. This movie was released in September 2016 and has a running time of 24 minutes. This film is rated TV-PG and there was no further information provided on the rating. Starring in this movie are Monica Bhargava and Jessica Zitter. The following plot overview is provided from IMDB: Witness the wrenching emotions that accompany end-of-life decisions as doctors, patients and families in a hospital ICU face harrowing choices.

This was some of the most intense 24 minutes of my life. I personally could not work in an Intensive Care Unit. That would drain me emotionally. There is an air in ICUs that weighs on a person. I have visited an ICU and I have been a patient in the ICU. I commend all doctors and nurses who help and guide patients and families in these moments. These are some of the scariest a person will ever experience. If you do not know what it is like in an ICU, you should watch this film. This movie is moving and powerful, make sure to have tissues ready.

I give this film 5 out of 5 stars.

Tomorrow for the TV Tuesday feature, I am reviewing the sci-fi drama series, Glitch. Next week for the Movie Monday feature, I am reviewing the romantic comedy film, Desperados. Until then keep seizing the cinema; Nerd out!
