This week for the Movie Monday feature, I am reviewing the action thriller film, Extraction. This film was released in 2020 and has a running time of 1 hour & 58 minutes. This film is rated R for the following reasons: severe violence & gore; moderate profanity; mild alcohol/drugs/smoking; moderate frightening & intense scenes. Starring in this film are Chris Hemsworth, Bryon Lerum, and Ryder Lerum. The following plot overview is provided by IMDB: Tyler Rake, a fearless black market mercenary, embarks on the most deadly extraction of his career when he’s enlisted to rescue the kidnapped son of an imprisoned international crime lord.
This is an action film that I could watch over and over again. I am not a huge fan of action movies, due to the fact that they normally lack enough story to keep me entertained. But this one had enough story plus action that my husband and I both enjoyed it together. I loved the well-rounded balance of all the elements in the film. There are some fantastic cinematic shots for me. The acting is good for a film that requires more combat training than actual acting in my opinion. This is a good film, I loved the ending because it lets you imagine what you want. I love films that end that way, it lets me have fun conversations with others on what we think it means. It’s not a romantic date night movie but it is worth a watch for date night.
I give this film 4.5 out of 5 stars.
