This week for the Movie Monday feature, I am reviewing the documentary film, Disclosure. The movie was released in 2020 and has a running time of 1 hour & 48 minutes. The film is rated TV-MA with no further explanation as to why it received that rating. Starring in this movie are Laverne Cox, Bianca Leigh, and Jen Richards. The following plot overview is provided from IMDB: An un-depth look at Hollywood’s depiction of transgender people and the impact of those stones on transgender lives and American culture.
If anyone needs to understand why there is a fight for representation in our media and a fight for trans rights this is the documentary for you. This moving film explains the importance of the movement. I do not want to beg but I will if I have to. Please watch this documentary with an open mind and an open heart. You never know who around you may need your support in their journey to their true selves.
I give this film 5 out of 5 stars.
