Altered Carbon

This week for the TV Tuesday feature, I am reviewing the sci-fi action drama, Altered Carbon. This show ran from 2018 to 2020. It is rated TV-MA for the following reasons: severe sex & nudity, severe violence & gore, moderate profanity, moderate alcohol/drugs/smoking, and moderately frightening & intense scenes. There is a total of 18 episodes across 2 seasons. Each episode has a running time of 1 hour. Starring in this series are Chris Conner, Renee Elise Goldsberry, and Will Yun Lee. The following overview is provided from IMDB: Set in a future where consciousness is digitized and restored, a prisoner returns to life in a new body and must solve a mind-bending murder to win his freedom.

I absolutely loved season 1 and was very excited when they renewed the show for a season 2. Then season 2 got released and I wasn’t entirely sad when they cancelled it. I don’t know what exactly about the storytelling that changed but there was something missing in season 2. I believe that if you are a sci-fi, fantasy, and/or action fan season 1 is a must-watch, Whether or not you watch season 2 is really up to you. I loved the casting and enjoyed watching each actor fall into the characters they played.

I give this series 4 out of 5 stars.

Tomorrow for the Missing Person Wednesday feature, I am highlighting the Doe Network Profile of Michael David Long. Next week for the TV Tuesday feature, I am reviewing the dramatic crime mystery, Luther. Until then keep binge-watching the episodes; Nerd out!
