13th

This week for the Movie Monday feature, I am reviewing the documentary film, 13th. This movie was released in October 2016 and has a running time of 1 hour & 40 minutes. This film is rated TV-MA for the following reasons: mild sex & nudity; severe violence & gore; mild profanity; moderate alcohol/drugs/smoking; severe frightening & intense scenes. Starring in this movie are Melina Abdullah, Michelle Alexander, and Cory Booker. The following plot overview is provided from IMDB: An in-depth look at the prison system in the United States and how it reveals the nation’s history of racial inequality.

This is a must-watch film. There is so much education in it. I learned so many things that were never in my history textbooks. I implore anyone who believes racial inequalities do not exist in America to watch this film and tell me that. Please please immediately go watch this film. If you are someone who cries at films make sure you have tissues.

I give this film 5 out of 5 stars.

Tomorrow for the TV Tuesday feature, I am reviewing the comedy talk show, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. Next week for the Movie Monday feature, I am reviewing the documentary short film, Extremis. Until then keep seizing the cinema; Nerd out!
